KING TUT
Monday April 13, 2009 Patti and I went to see King Tut. Unfortunately no pictures are allowed so I can not post any images.
If you get a chance, go see the exhibit. Be sure to get the audio tour that goes with it, the tour is narrated by Harrison Ford with a lot of doctors of this and that explaining everything. Beautiful pieces of art work and statues. There is a twenty minute movie available, it should be seen before you do the exhibit. We spent four hours there, they tell you it takes ninety minutes to see the exhibit, but you can take all the time you want. There are benches if you want to set for a few minutes. The gift shop is a bit pricey, but it has some great things in it. Not really for children under twelve or so, unless they are advanced.We had a great day even if it did rain most of the day.

Family time
A few weeks ago Ben’s sister and her husband Ron needed to get out of the snow in Kentucky, they decided to spend a week in beautiful Georgia.
Brenda, Ron, Patti, and I went to Warner Robins Air Base to tour the Museum there.
It was a pretty laid back week. Since Ron is an all things Coke collector we had to visit the World of Coke in Atlanta. We made it a family outing; Kris and his friend Kendra, Jeri and the two grandchildren Ema and Tobey all enjoyed the outing as well.
If you like history, even if you lived through it, you will find a lot to interest you at the World of Coke. You can also enjoy a taste of all the coke products from all over the world. I made sure Tobey had a taste of everything, I didn’t want the boy to miss out, and of course he shortly felt the effects of the sugar and caffeine.
We ended our visit to Atlanta with a stop at the CNN Center for espresso and a nap for some.

Military aircraft from the every first to the latest unmanned drones. There are several buildings, not all are complete yet, and a lot of walking, but it was interesting. Definitely worth three hours, and it’s free.
We had a family gathering at Carlos’ house where we eat Zori’s great cooking, played dominoes, and Euchre.

BEN'S BIRTHDAY
Since Ben's birthday is on inauguration day, January 20, he claims that the country is celebrating his birthday also. Whatever gets you through the ageing process.

Mother Daughter Day
The ladies of the family went together for the annual Mother Daughter Dinner.

Each table had to have a theme and they had to do all the decorations themselves. (Definitely not a man thing.)
Christmas 2008
This year as usual, we had the family over for Christmas, with the exception of Javier who spent Christmas in Florida and Carlos and his family who spent Christmas in Dominican Republic with Zori's family.
We had two new children in the family this year, David (4) and Maria (18 months). Leland's (Patti's brother) new wife Gandhi is from Honduras.
Ed and Hester, (Patti's mom and dad) were with us
as well as Tracy, (April's dad)
Kris brought his friend Kendra, who was a Yellow Jacket fan among Gators and Bulldogs, thus the Yellow Jacket gift.
All in all it was a great day with family and friends. We pray that the coming year is as good to all as 2008 was.
